Earl thought that every child should experience Bible camp. His way of helping kids get to Bible camp was to set up the Campership fund, now named the Earl Best Memorial Scholarship, in 2023. This scholarship offers financial support to families and children that wish to attend an ELCA Bible camp. This scholarship is available to youth who have a direct connection to Elim (i.e., member of Elim, regular church attendee, or enrolled in Elim’s Children Center or youth with similar church connections to one of the other Marshalltown ELCA Alliance churches, Trinity
Lutheran and Our Savior Lutheran).
